Today we watched a video about redistricting, and discussed the process, and gerrymandering, in greater detail.
If you missed today, you missed a quiz! Today we took an open notes quiz with the understanding that there will not be an opportunity to make up missed points in the future.
We also had lecture about the Electoral College, but did not get to have a significant discussion about it, so our homework is to do so via flipgrid - please see the slides for a more specific set of instructions.
Today we finished up discussions of Executive power and how it's used. Students were assigned an Actively Learn article and are to read the Bill of Rights over the weekend, and write 2-3 questions for a speaker on Tuesday.
We started with a very quick review of questions you should be able to answer after yesterday's lecture. After that, students had the period to work on their visual metaphors for our government.
DUE TOMORROW: Visual metaphors AND Actively Learn article
Today we went through a lot of content on Separation of powers, separate but co-equal branches of government, etc. The slideshow is very dense with information. At the end, I asked students to begin thinking about a metaphor for our system of government. There was no written homework.
