Today we reviewed some fundamentals of characterization. What's direct, what's indirect? I had 6 suitcases (or bags) with clothes, books, etc. in them. Students selected one and wrote 1-2 paragraphs about a character, based on what they'd found in the bag. The requirements for the assignment can be found on the slideshow.
My expectation was that students would complete a rough draft today, and would move on to the final draft tomorrow, after reading the ActivelyLearn article about how to write strong characters.
